Graduate Assistantships at GIKI 2026

The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology has introduced new Graduate Assistantship Schemes for Fall 2026. These assistantships are available to eligible applicants seeking admission to MS and PhD programmes at GIKI.

The assistantships provide a full tuition-fee waiver, free bachelor hostel accommodation and a monthly stipend. The stipend is Rs. 158,000 under the PhD Graduate Assistantship Scheme (GA-6) and Rs. 88,000 under the MS Graduate Assistantship Scheme (GA-5).

PhD Graduate Assistantship — GA-6

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

• At least 60% marks in HSSC or an equivalent qualification

• A minimum CGPA of 2.70, or 70% marks, in BS or BS Engineering

• A minimum CGPA of 3.00 in MS or MPhil

MS Graduate Assistantship — GA-5

Benefits

• Full tuition-fee waiver

• Monthly stipend of Rs. 88,000

• Free bachelor hostel accommodation

Eligibility

Applicants should have:

• At least 60% marks in HSSC or an equivalent qualification

• A minimum CGPA of 2.70, or 70% marks, in BS or BS Engineering

• Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering

Application Deadline

31 July 2026

The official GIKI graduate admissions schedule lists 31 July 2026 as the application deadline for the Fall 2026 semester. Admission-test and interview dates are to be announced by the Institute.

The registration portal allows applicants to select either a Master of Science — Fall 2026 or Doctor of Philosophy — Fall 2026 application.

Automatic Consideration for the Assistantship

Applicants do not appear to need a separate application for the newly introduced assistantship scheme. GIKI states that all Fall 2026 graduate admission applicants—including those who have already applied—will automatically be considered.
